The author with her childhood quilt, made from her own family's clothing, brought from Russia

Synopsis: A Russian immigrant family arrives in America, and the mother decides to make a quilt from clothes belonging to relatives in the old country. She tells her daughter, "It's like having the family back home in Russia dance around us at night." The quilt is passed down from mother to daughter, for four generations, bespeaking of a family's love, faith, and endurance.
